The trip2athens is a e-guide for city of Athens. At no cost to participants, the portal dynamically promoting all tourism activities (accommodation, catering, entertainment, shopping etc) in seven languages (Greek, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese) from the planning stages down to the completion of a trip, “dream – plan – book – visit – share”.
From the e-guide trip2athens visitors from around the world can plan their journey to Athens from the beginning to the end, choose their transportation, choose the hotel for their stay, choose the attractions they are interested in visiting and make all the necessary reservations.
Visitors can create a virtual diary of their trip to Athens, share with friends via social media and also “download” the e-guide to their mobile device through the available applications so they can access all of the platform’s content, at any time, without having to be connected to the internet (off line).
The portal displayed in a easy-to-use, attractive site enriched with photographs, descriptions and an interactive map for visitors.
Offers a vast array of useful information about the city and Attica, including public transport, travelling to and from the city, booking accommodation, information on sites and activities, a constantly updated guide to what’s on in the city, shopping areas, night life, entertainment, beaches, day-trips and a host of other activities, displayed in a easy-to-use, attractive site enriched with photographs, descriptions and an interactive map.
The Trip2Athens platform’s mobile app also gives visitors access to all the information they need offline in seven languages and allows them to update their electronic journal and buy discount coupons using the QR Code with participating companies.
Today the platform counts 2,000 companies, 470 hotels, approximately 1,000 sites, hundreds of activities and other places of interest in Athens and Attica.
The objective is the platform to meet in the near future all locations in Greece.
The portal was created by the Hoteliers’ Chamber of Greece and the Athens Municipality.
